CIRSE 2014 Excellence and Innovation Award for UMCU

The Quirem Medical team congratulates the University Medical Centre Utrecht with winning the CIRSE 2014 Excellence and Innovation Award in Interventional Radiology.

This prestigious prize has been awarded to the Holmium research team from the UMCU for their innovative work in developing Holmium-166 microspheres, the first radioactive microspheres that can be visualised in vivo on multimodal imaging. The prize will be presented to the team representatives during the Opening and Awards Ceremony of the CIRSE Annual Meeting in Glasgow on September 13. Quirem Medical’s mission is to commercialise these next generation microspheres under the trade name QuiremSpheres®. Commercial release of QuiremSpheres® is envisaged end 2014. The full Quirem Medical team will be present at CIRSE 2014 in Glasgow between September 13 and 17 to join the celebrations.
